Theft Biography
Mix together the writing style of Pete Yorn with the grand sound of Coldplay and you're close to describing Theft , the solo project of Matt McCartie that sounds a heck of a lot like a band. After playing in numerous bands on both coasts, last of which was Los Angeles' Eskimohunter , McCartie decided to go it alone and began building a recording studio in his backyard. He played every instrument on Theft 's demos and 60 recorded songs later he was receiving licensing deals from the likes of MTV , who used his "Seeing Stars" for an episode of Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County aired in 2007.
