CMT is set to premiere one of its most highly anticipated specials, 40 Greatest Men of Country Music, hosted by Emmy Award-winning actress Megan Mullally (Will & Grace). 40 Greatest Men of Country Music pays tribute to the 40 men who have made unforgettable contributions to country music. The countdown will include interviews with artists from various musical genres, entertainers, journalists and music historians as they describe why each of these incredible men is considered one of the "40 Greatest Men of Country Music." The three-hour CMT exclusive documentary premieres Friday, March 28 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

To create the exciting three-hour countdown from No. 40 to No. 1, the special will also include performance footage, historic photos and the timeless music these men have made over the years. Each hour will draw viewers closer to knowing which artist will be honored as the "Greatest Man of Country Music." 40 Greatest Men of Country Music is the second exclusive documentary in CMT's successful "Greatest" series, following the 2002 landmark special CMT 40 Greatest Women of Country Music.

Emmy Award-winning actress Megan Mullally of the hit series Will & Grace will host 40 Greatest Men of Country Music. Mullally, a 2002 Screen Actors Guild award winner and 2003 Golden Globe nominee for her role as Karen Walker on the hit sitcom, won an Emmy as outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series in 2000 and was nominated again in 2001 and 2002. An accomplished singer, Mullally recently released her second album Big as a Berry, featuring a mix of standards from country, rock and blues.

The "40 Greatest Men of Country Music" were selected by hundreds of performers, music historians, music journalists and music industry professionals who considered each artist's body of work and overall contributions to the ever-changing world of country music.

In 2002 CMT debuted the first in its series of "Greatest" specials -- CMT 40 Greatest Women of Country Music, the historic television event that revealed the elite list of country music's most influential female artists. More than 7.1 million viewers watched the three-hour special during its premiere weekend. In June 2003, CMT will continue the popular "Greatest" series with CMT 100 Greatest Songs of Country Music, which will count down the 100 songs that have made a lasting impact on the world of country music
